The research and development laboratory of Resysten Science and Research Kft. was inaugurated at the Incubator House of the University of Szeged (SZTE). The facility offers a unique opportunity for the Hungarian company, which specializes in hygiene protective coatings, to encourage development and respond more quickly and effectively to new market demands. The system developed by Resysten already protects the health of millions of people worldwide in hospitals, on public transport networks, educational institutions, multinational companies, and shopping malls.

Resysten continuously develops its services based on durable hygiene coatings, which are now used not only in Hungarian public transport, including the Budapest metro network (BKK), and Volánbusz coaches, or in domestic hospitals and shopping malls but also in sports facilities, manufacturing plants of multinational companies, and community spaces. The hygiene protective coating keeps pathogens away from frequently and commonly touched surfaces for a full year, invisibly.

“We take our work seriously, which includes continuously developing and testing our new coatings. Our company has gained private capital investments to promote foreign expansion, with 70% of the investment managed by the Eximbank. With the help of the investment, we were able to establish Resysten Science and Research Ltd., whose primary task is to create our research, development, and testing facilities in the Science Park. Through cutting-edge research and innovative solutions, we develop better and more efficient solutions for various industries,” said János Pintér, Resysten’s Development Director.

Last year, the company agreed to raise a 750 million HUF capital investment with Columbus Private Equity Fund, which enabled them to develop their research base in addition to expanding overseas. As a result of the capital investment, they established Resysten Science and Research Kft., with the primary task of creating a research and development, testing, and manufacturing environment in the Science Park of Szeged. A milestone in this process is the inauguration of the new laboratory, which will provide employment opportunities for a number of young professionals and scientists graduating from the University of Szeged.

The capital injection is now also leading the way: “Our subsidiary in the United Kingdom was approached with a request to develop a coating that neutralizes smog and other air pollutants. Since then, our prototypes have already undergone successful preliminary tests and are now on the desk of an accredited commercial laboratory, awaiting the results. We can introduce a product that will neutralize harmful emissions from vehicles on the surfaces of our homes, which we pollute daily as we go to work, shop or take our children to school, thus contributing to sustainable development,” said Péter Lehoczky, CEO of Resysten, at the laboratory opening ceremony.

According to the leaders of the company, the daily use of new technologies is inevitable for effective protection. In a globalised world, the spread of viruses and bacteria has accelerated dramatically, which, together with the increasing diversification of pathogens, has created new challenges for companies and institutions alike. Sustainability is a top priority for the company, and Resysten is a recognized distributor of green technologies in many countries worldwide. Its products contribute to the environmentally conscious operation of offices, factories, and institutions and help reduce the use of traditional chemicals.

Resysten Hungary Kft. has been partnering with several departments of the University of Szeged for four years. The university’s renowned professors conduct physical, chemical, and materials science analyses and measurements, as well as microbiological and virological tests, and efficiency and analytical tests for the company. The ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University of Szeged, Prof. László Rovó and the Chancellor of the University of Szeged, Dr. Judit Fendler, and by the Managing Director of Resysten Ltd., Péter Lehoczky, the Development Director János Pintér and the Adjunct Professor Dr. László Janovák.
